The Italian and French Rivieras
Live your dolce vita across three countries through one transformative experience of a lifetime. Begin your adventures in France — we travel to Nice, to Monaco, and then to Portofino, Italy.
Live Your Dolce Vita
The Riviera is a universe of its own. It’s a mythical sliver of land and sea where France and Italy meet. It has a long history of attracting people who are looking for a piece of the good life. As early as the 18th century, when the English aristocracy got a taste for travel and seasonal migration started to become de rigueur, Nice evolved into the “good living” basecamp. The beauty of the 21st century is that we don’t need to be aristocracy to get our slice of this lifestyle. (And — Hallelujah — no need to fit gowns and corsets into our carry-on either!)
But the Italian and French Riviera isn’t just about ritzy Belle Époque villas. Up until 50 years ago there wasn’t much foreign tourism in 90% of the area. Our 8-night and 9-day Riviera experience is designed to balance the big name attractions with lesser known locales, in keeping with Italian Fix’s high/low aesthetic. We have carefully selected our favorite places, experiences, and meals to make sure you have tons to write home about.
We start in Nice, as there is so much to see in this area. Then we’ll travel to Monaco, before heading into Italy and staying in Portofino. We’ll also explore Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Eze, Antibes, Saint-Paul de Vence and San Fruttuoso.

Itinerary Overview
The numbers indicate the amount of nights you will stay at each location.
It’s so easy to get to Nice — there’s an international airport right there. Our driver will collect you as soon as you land and transfer you to your Nice hotel. That night we’ll gather for a gorgeous welcome dinner in the historical part of town after exploring Nice on foot.
We’ll make sure you get your fill of pain-au-chocolat at breakfast before you head out with your host to explore the French Riviera! We have a private driver to get us around, including to an appointment at the French perfume house Fragonard, established in 1782, so that you can make your own signature scent. You can pick up some amazing gifts here as well. We’ll also visit the coastal French towns of Eze and Beaulieu-sur-Mer, where we’ll tour the most beautiful historical landmarks, like the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Dinner is in Nice, together.
After a relaxing morning and good conversation over great French pastries, we’ll head on an afternoon adventure to Antibes and Saint-Paul de Vence. We’ll have lunch together at one of the destination restaurants in the area. Tonight you’ll be back in Nice with some free time for your personal interests (even if those personal interests only include cocktails at the hotel bar).
This is a free day in Nice — you can go shopping, visit galleries, hit the spa or visit Cannes, which is just a short 30-minute train ride away. We’ll gather together for aperitifs on our fave rooftop before our final dinner in Nice.
Today we depart Nice and travel to Monaco. We’ll check into our Monaco hotel, enjoy a walking tour of Monaco, and share a list of our fave eats — you’ll have a free choice for dinner tonight. Monaco is full of concerts, ballets, plays, orchestras and of course, lots of fine dining.
You’ll have free time in Monaco in the morning, after which we have a few choices depending on the interest of the group — oceanografic museum, the Grace Kelly gardens, or the Royal palace. There is so much to see and do here! But long leisurely lunches are also a priority, so we’ll pencil that in too. Free time in Monaco that night.
Today we check out of our Monaco hotel, and we’re off to Italy! It’s just a few hours down the coast, and we’ll stop at some of the Italian landmarks along the way. We’ll check into our Portofino hotel, and enjoy a casual dinner at a pizzeria… ‘cause Italy!
This morning we have a private boat waiting to take us along the Italian coast. We’ll head to the hidden Abbey of San Fruttuoso and swim in the bay or just watch the world (and the yachts) go by. Our final night dinner will be at the most famous table in Portofino with a view.
This morning we’re checking out of our hotel. But if you don’t think you’ll be ready to head back home so soon, don’t fret! We have designed our travel season so you can extend your stay easily and conveniently. Continue exploring Italy on another Italian Fix tour (we have a couple of mini-tours on offer that are great add-ons), or catch a flight home if you must (the Genoa of Genoa is 50 minutes away). Whatever you choose, we know you’ll be leaving inspired and refreshed, having fully embraced the art of living, Italian style. Buon viaggio!

A Word From Our Founder
I’ve been bringing people to the Italian Riviera for over 10 years. I’ve — quite accidentally — experienced Riviera living for most of my adult life because I married a man from the sleepy Riviera city of La Spezia. I know most people have not married an Italian, nor have they had the good fortune to collect freckles each summer along this coastline, so my calling is to download decades worth of Riviera easy living into the nervous system of our guests. Because I believe wandering down the street with a bag of peaches, a good mood, and a straw hat can cure ailments of all sorts. I’m no doctor, but I will say that the Riviera has been good medicine for me, and I hope it brings healing to you too in these crazy times. An exciting element of this tour is that I’ll be learning all about the French Riviera right alongside you! I’m new to it myself, but I have a friend in high places — very high places, actually! He lives part of the year in Monaco, which makes him the perfect kind of friend to lean on when developing this fabulous journey into France. This is an Italian Fix with a French twist — the first of its kind in our portfolio.
With love + champagne,
Bianca

What You’ll Experience With Us
FAQ
We’re a boutique travel company, not a luxury travel company. Although we do think of ourselves as fancy (we even train our hosts with some of the same service tenets as the Ritz), we want to do things differently.
We want our trips to be more inclusive and open to a more diverse set of travelers than a typical luxury tour operator that just serves the 1%. We like to think of our experiences as a beautiful balance of high and low. We might offer a stunning multi-course meal with wine pairings at an award-winning restaurant one evening, and the next day, we’ll be eating a panino at a plastic table at the market. Because, let’s be honest. You didn’t come to Italy to have a Disneyland-esque type of experience. You’re here to experience it all, not just the touristy stuff. We love to offer our guests the kind of beautifully layered and nuanced experience that our Italian friends would plan for themselves.
Our travel and logistics experts are geniuses at crafting the perfect combination of local experiences, tastes, sights, and sounds. Many of our Italian Fix hosts live in the areas we visit or have lived there before. So, we know people.
We’re intentional in our decisions about where we stay, where we eat, and where we visit. It’s important to us that we support the ethical, family-owned businesses we know and love. No chain hotels are on our roster. We purposefully and artfully select the smaller, family-run places that offer next-level experiences and unique boutique-style service. We aim for 10/10 reviews — without the $12K price tag for access.
We have a combination of solo travelers, people traveling with friends, and people traveling with partners/spouses on all of our tours. We also have a mix of “co-ed” and “women only” dates.
First off, we speak Italian! We also understand the context, the customs, and the community of every location we visit. In Italy, it’s not what you know — it’s who you know. And we know people.
Coming with us is like having a backstage pass or an insider’s tour, and you need that in Italy because it’s way too busy and too easy to get caught up in the fray. If you travel on your own, you’re just one in a million foreigners waiting in lines and trying to get service. No connections or language fluency makes that so much more frustrating!
Our travel style allows you to be among friends and have access to things you couldn’t find on your own. We’re into slow — and sustainable — travel. We support family-run businesses and local producers. And we’re picky! No big-box concept of tourism around here. At Italian Fix, we’re mindful about keeping traditions alive and supporting local economies.
One of the most beautiful things about our trips is that they attract a lot of different kinds of people — and we’re proud of that. Our fun, safe, and let-your-hair-down energy the right kind of guests from around the world with different backgrounds — because wanting to live your dolce vita is something that transcends any zip code or age range.
We have guests who return to Italian Fix year after year. From the person who enjoys traveling solo to the besties who want to take one more trip of a lifetime, they all want to live the Italian lifestyle in a carefree, fun-filled, and relaxing week. They trust Italian Fix to confidently handle all the details so the only thing they’re responsible for is embracing the art of living — Italian style.
Our carefully crafted itineraries have been perfected over years of hosting successful trips so they play out like a symphony — with cadence, timing and rhythm. All of our trips have up-time and down-time. The introverts who need quiet to recharge can get it, and the extroverts who derive energy from new connections can thrive too. One of our mottos is “Hey, it’s your holiday — opt out of any days you like” We have lots to see, eat, do and explore whenever you wish to join in. Just put on your comfy shoes and andiamo!
We’re a really small company that serves just a few hundred people per year. You can read more about us here. By comparison, most tour operators are really, really big — some of them serve about 30,000 people per year! That’s not who we are — we’re female-owned and mostly female-run, and getting to know each of our travelers by name is super important to us! We truly want to get to know you.
We employ incredibly smart, organized, and hard-working individuals (mostly women) who are passionate about travel, culture, adventure, and people. We also work in our comfy pants and have a sane work schedule where we can pick up our kids from school and enjoy our lives too. We do what we do so that you can live your dolce vita.
