Sicily Tour

Sicily is like the prettiest girl in the room.

You know you want to be her friend, but you could use an introduction.

Well, I think you’d get along like a house on fire. She’s a blast.

Her style is relaxed and welcoming — meals al fresco, cocktails under the lemon trees, poolside bonding, soaking in thermal waters at the spa, market shopping, swimming in crystal clear water, wandering through Baroque cities.

I’d like to personally invite you to come and meet Sicily on one of two dates in 2018: May 3rd to 13th and July 6th to 16th.

Choose the one that works best, and just show up. We have everything planned for you.

You’ll sleep in Palermo >
the Aeolian Islands >

We’re traveling to where the Italians go on vacation.

Sicily is where picky locals and Europeans holiday. After hearing about it from my Italian friends I knew I had to go.

Of course, I fell in love with the island my first time there (there are few who don’t). Right away, I knew I wanted to share this place with others.

Truthfully, it’s taken me years to artfully piece this trip together. I’ve built it from my personal travel highlights during my Sicilian holidays — things that have rocked my world and made my life feel sparkly and well-lived.

I could never have built this trip alone, though, so I enlisted the most charming Sicilian to help, and now he runs the tour for us. Tommaso was born and raised on the Aeolian Island of Salina. While you’re staying at our (fab!) hotel, he’ll be staying at his villa right next door. Seriously.

Tommaso has helped hundreds of people travel Sicily and now it’s your turn. Getting to know Italy with the help of deep personal contacts is essential to having an amazing Italian experience.

Why would you visit Italy alone?

Travel with us and tap into The Italian Fix Factor.

We Speak Italian

Which means you’ll never struggle with directions or the menu, or with anything! Don’t let not knowing the language keep you from a true Italian experience.

We have decades of experience living, working and traveling Italy, which means we know what it takes to have a good time here. Now you will too.

Fierce Love

We’ve got your back. We protect our people, serve our people and love our people. You travel with a unicorn-powered forcefield of fierce love around you. Nobody effs with fierce love.

In Italy, connections are everything. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. We’ve nurtured amazing relationships with locals over the years — you’ll meet them because we’re friends. You’ll also get top-notch food, service and smiles because you’re with us.

Italian Family

We have roots and homes in Italy. We leverage family and personal networks to deliver you value and safety.

Heart-Centered Service

You’re not a reservation number — you’re an honored guest. No matter what time of day or night (even 3am), you can count on us. We’ve built this business from nothing to sold-out-in-hours tours because we truly care about people.

The Friend Factor

Ever dreamt about jet-setting with a stylish well-traveled friend who knows the best food, cocktails and shopping in a drop-dead gorgeous place? A friend who’s positive, uplifting and makes you laugh but who’s also super grounded and drama-free? Now you can.

Gold Standard

You know what sucks rocks? Subpar food, lackluster service and treating tourists like dollar signs. There are tons of tourist traps in Italy and you need to know how to avoid rip-offs (on hotels, meals, taxis and events). We don’t touch dud businesses with a ten-foot pole.

Best of Both

We really “get” you. We know what you want to see, do and experience in Italy because we were travelers here once too. But now we get the nuances and navigate like locals. This unique perspective gives you a “best of both worlds” experience.

This is a vacation… with benefits.

Right now, if eating Ben & Jerry’s in bed is the highlight of your week, then listen up ‘cause ten days absorbing the sheer beauty of Sicily might be your escape.

Renewed inspiration
and fulfillment.

Connecting to inspiration fuels a happy, healthy lifestyle. The most successful people in the world constantly pursue inspiration and purpose. Feeling inspired infuses your life with joy and meaning. Those who seek inspiration find it.

Live your dreams,
right now.

Too many people save travel for retirement, but traveling requires good health, which you likely possess right now. If you have dreams, don’t put them on hold for some distant future that might never come. When you look back at your life in five years, what do you want to see? Ambitions reached or dreams put out to pasture?

Increased health
and energy.

Immerse yourself in an exotic and safe Sicilian experience. Every day you’ll eat a Mediterranean diet full of fresh vegetables and local seafood or meat. We’ll also be walking daily, surrounded by nature and swimming in the ocean.

Be taken care of.

Are you blessed with a full life?
Got work? Deadlines? Chores? Kids? To do lists comin’ out the wazoo? Do you feel like you’re always “giving” but have very little time for yourself? We thought so, and we get it. What if, just for a change, someone were to take care of you? Well, that’s our job. We want you to kick back and leave the planning to us. Because you need time to think about more important things: like if you’re gonna drink a third cappuccino at breakfast.

Connect to a more carefree version of yourself.

When did we all get so busy? And tired? In a work-obsessed culture, busy is glorified, and financial wealth is superior to emotional or spiritual wealth. But this trip is about putting inner wealth and health first. Who doesn’t need more time to connect with the person you’re meant to be?

  • Day 1
Arrive in Palermo and we’ll pick you up from the airport and whisk you away to a grand hotel. It’s smack dab in the historical center, on a pedestrian street and close to everything. We’ll gather in the covered courtyard for a sunset aperitivo before eating a Sicilian feast. This cozy table among new friends has your name on it. Sleep: Palermo
  • Day 2
We’ll show you the fascinating city of Palermo, a place dripping with mystery and contradictions. On side streets and grand boulevards we’ll lead you to enchanting corners and important landmarks. You’ll love lunch right inside the market and dinner on a rooftop garden overlooking the city at sunset! But this isn’t about ticking the sights off your list. It’s about gaining insight into how people build, live, create and thrive in a culture different than ours. Sleep: Palermo
  • Day 3
Today we’ll depart Palermo and head to the glorious Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily. The volcanic “Isole Eolie” are the stuff of myths and movies, named after the demigod of the winds, Aeolus. Our base is Salina — enchanting, relaxing and tiny. Our hotel has a spa with local thermal waters and you’ll slide into island time instantly. Sleep: Salina Island
  • Day 4
Lounge poolside with a book and a cappuccino. Or go to the spa and treat yourself to a massage or the almond-milk bath in a copper tub (soaking in Sicilian almonds ground into fresh milk feels very Cleopatra — you could get used to this!) Whatever you do, take in every last drop of this gorgeous place. After lunch we’ll cruise the island on our private boat and you’ll have nothing to do except watch life go by, in your bathing suit, as you eat granita (try the pistachio!). At this point on your trip, you may start contemplating never going home (completely normal). Sunset watching is best from Pollara so we’ll drop the anchor and eat spaghetti aboard. You’re officially in the Dolce Zone, and it feels sooo good! Sleep: Salina Island
  • Day 5
The most important decisions to make today are these: should I walk down to beach or just stay at the pool? And should I have just one granita, or three? You’ll have time to ponder these questions before an afternoon trip around the island, after which we’ll head to the location where the film, Il Postino, was shot. Sleep: Salina Island
  • Day 6
You’re on island time now, which means that an afternoon sipping local wines seems like the most reasonable thing to do. If wine isn’t your thing, we’ll organize a day of walking some beautiful trails along the island, which lead to some incredible views. Today is your last day on the island and we’ll show you the best shops to pick up some last minute treasures. Don’t forget to take one last dip in that heavenly pool overlooking the ocean. That’s a scene you’ll want in your head forever. Sleep: Salina Island
  • Day 7
You may have sworn by now that you’ll never leave the Islands but today you must, because we have more gems to show you. We’re heading to Taormina, a town teetering on a cliff overlooking the Ionian sea. People come here for the ancient Greek theater, and the picturesque mountains and sea. We’ll experience all of that. And the tiramisu. Sleep: Taormina
  • Day 8
Today is a free day to explore Taormina and we’ll help you with whatever you need. There’s so much to see and do (or not do if the pool is calling you). You can stroll, swim, eat, shop or just flood your Facebook feed over lunch with “Living La Dolce Vita” selfies of you and the cute waiter. For dinner we’ll gather at our fave spot for a pizza while we hear all about your day. Sleep: Taormina
  • Day 9
Roadtrip! We’re in a gorgeous area of Sicily, right between Mount Etna and the sea. We want you to explore our favorite small villages, and we’ll have lots of time to wander back roads and eat a grand Sicilian lunch at a trattoria with no menu — they serve what’s been picked or caught fresh that day. Along the coast we have some special out-of-the-way gems to show you that only a Sicilian local would know — good thing you’re with one! Sleep: Taormina
  • Day 10
This is our last day in Italy together so let’s make it awesome. Which of course we will. This includes the most famous thing to do in Taormina — take the funicolare down to the water. You’ll have some free time to pick up your last treasures and squeeze them into your luggage. At night we’ll gather to clink glasses for a special celebratory meal in our fave Taormina restaurant. Sleep: Taormina
  • Day 11
This is departure and check-out day. We’ll bring you to Catania airport for your flight or if you’re staying in Sicily longer, we’ll drop you off at your hotel. You can lean on us for expert advice. Whatever you need, we’re here for you. Check-out

Are you coming?

We travel Sicily from May 3rd to May 13th and from July 6th to July 16th.

If you’ve traveled mainland Italy, it’s time to #traveldeeper.

Sicily isn’t as visited these days as Tuscany or the Cinque Terre, which is precisely the hook.

To be perfectly frank, Sicily is really relaxed. The people are incredibly friendly (that’s the first thing I noticed) and the landscape is more exotic than the mainland. It feels magical and otherworldly — Greek, Arab and Norman history mix with incredible beaches and a softer version of modern life.

Sicily is Italy with a totally different vibe.

Speaking of vibe, you should know that the vibe of our trips is less about museum line-ups and more about feeling good.

Which means being surrounded by great people in great places. It’s not science — it’s an art that sets us apart.

Hassle-Saving Factor

One hub for all your Italy trip needs.

There are plenty of tour groups of fifty people traveling around Europe in a big bus.

We’ve limited our Sicily tour to 14 women. We want you to feel like you’re traveling with friends, not a sports team.

Sure, we could pack dozens of people on this trip like most tour companies would (we have had over 100 people sign up for the interest list for this trip). We could easily raise our numbers.

But this is group travel for people who don’t normally go on tours. We want you to travel Italy beautifully, so we keep our numbers low. We know small group travel is a great balance of fun and ease, and it’s better than traveling alone. The reality is that this isn’t your run-of-the-mill group travel experience — it’s personalized service from a caring team.

Here are the perks of traveling in our bubble:

  • 1It’s so much more fun than traveling alone.
  • 2It’s easier than traveling with a spouse or friend because we handle all the planning.
  • 3You cultivate new friends and worldwide connections.
  • 4 You have the luxury of drivers and guides helping you with everything.
  • 5 When you go on a trip, do you normally hire experts for day trips who know the locals and have the lowdown on what exactly to see/do/eat while you’re there?

The truth is, we have a special knack for attracting positive, generous and amazing women from around the globe to join us in Italy. Our guests always comment that they’re not normally group travel people, but they’re surprised how Italian Fix makes travel easy and fun.

Which is why we’re limiting guests to 14 on this Sicily tour.

Is this trip right for you?

Have you already been to Italy?

Sweet… so you know how amazing it is. But think of how amazing it could be when you travel with someone who knows the language, knows the locals and knows all the secret spots. Unless you’ve traveled with an Italian friend and stayed at her home, it’s almost impossible to not feel like a tourist in Italy. We offer an alternative to that.

Will this be your first trip to Italy?

Then you’ll love the safety of the group, the ease of having all your hotels, transportation, activities and meals sorted out for you. You’ll love that you won’t have to worry about getting lost, getting ripped off, hassling with foreign currency, or trying to communicate in Italian. We take care of everything.

This trip isn’t for everyone.

It IS for you if:

  • You gravitate towards insider knowledge — you value traveling with someone who knows the ropes.
  • You enjoy eating, walking, and off-the-beaten-path ideas. You like holidays near the ocean but also enjoy the city.
  • You love to have a great time and are open to meeting others

This trip is NOT for you if:

  • You’re extremely rigid in your habits, or you want things to be like they are at home. If that’s the case, Sicily (or anywhere in Italy) is not the place for you because the Italian lifestyle can be very different from what you’re used to. (If you’re open to new experiences, our bilingual guides will translate the quirkier aspects of Italian life for you.)
  • You don’t like Italian food. That is what we’ll be eating. Every day. If you’re a vegetarian, or on a restricted diet (like no wheat), we have yummy options for you.

Bianca is one of the kindest people I have ever met. Throughout the trip she made sure everyone was okay, enjoying themselves and feeling included. I was truly made to feel like a friend and not a client.

Bianca’s tour was so enjoyable and I am still floating on cloud 9. My mood has been lifted. Bianca’s attention to detail was outstanding, as were her stellar professionalism, her staff, and her knowledge of the region and language. I just couldn’t ask for more from a tour company.

Before I booked, I had been uncertain that a group trip was a good fit for me, but the whole thing was magical. The level of experience was superb and not having to worry about any logistics was priceless. It freed me up to focus on being in the moment.

Frequently asked questions.

Where are we staying?

You’ll sleep in three different Sicilian locales: feisty and flamboyant Palermo, Sicily’s capital city; lush Salina, one of the Aeolian Islands; and posh Taormina, perched on the side of a mountain.

Can I extend my stay?

Great idea. We’ll give you tips.

What airport do I
fly into?

Fly into Palermo International Airport (PMO – Palermo Punta Raisi) and out of Catania International Airport (CTA – Catania Fontanarossa). We provide airport transfers for free.

I have more questions, can you help?

We thought you’d never ask. Email so we can meet you and give you personal advice.

I’m not a “tour person” and I usually plan my own trips.

Great — you’ll fit right in as our guests are looking for something different too. Think of this as a trip planned by a local friend, something you would never be able to pull off on your own. We offer you daily activities but don’t feel pressured to do anything — it’s your trip.

Will I be too old, too young?

Our guests range in age from being in their 20s to being in their 70s. Age means nothing because we’re all searching for a better life.
