POST ON YOUR DREAMBOARD

As a North American, trains have always felt so romantic to me. This week, I want to share with you one of the most scenic train rides you can do in Italy. Intend on checking out Milan during your stay in Italy? Take the train to German-speaking Bolzano, located in a valley in the Italian Alps. The train ride takes between 3 and 5 hours and passes through beautiful countryside and medieval towns and the wild Dolomite mountains.

WHAT WE’RE LOVING RIGHT NOW

When I first moved to Italy, I had to go to Milan to get some documents so I could get married. Which I wasn’t mad about, ‘cause I would go browse all the droolworthy design shops, even if I didn’t have two euros to rub together. I would just wander. And daydream. One of those spaces was created by a wild woman named Rosanna Orlandi. If you are in Milan and have a passion for pretty things, I highly suggest you check out her gallery.

MANGIAMO

This week we are sharing a unique appetizer or even a cheese plate mixer-upper. Who doesn’t love bruschetta? That crunchy toasted bread topped with whatever the chef desires — sooo yummmm. We are taking it up a level and sharing the recipe for Roasted Grape Crostini with goat cheese and walnuts. It’s not something an Italian nonna would make (it’s not traditional enough for her) but it’s something tasty and simple. Another fave crostini combo of mine is fig and cheese.

WISH WE WERE HERE

Saying ‘Ciao’ from Siena! I’ll see you at the piazza after dinner for a glass of passito and some cake.

With love + aperol spritz
